HPSC offers Test Drives (for downhill skiing, snowboarding, x-country skiing & snowshoeing) at the beginning of the season to allow non-members to register themselves on select day trips to ride the bus, take part in a free lesson and to enjoy in all the club has to offer and all for the same price as a member. All guests on Test Drive trips and all friends on the Friends Day must be 21 years of age or older.
A Test Drive is a High Park Ski Club day trip where non-members may join us for the day and participate in skiing and snowboarding lessons and the camaraderie and enjoyment that our club offers.
To join us, you have to register and pay for your trip online. As a guest, you book the "bus and lift" option which provides you with coach transportation and a lift ticket. There are instructions available on the trip registration page and the links will be active by the last week of November. You must be 21 years of age and over as High Park Ski Club is an adult only club. You sign up as a guest, you do not need a member to book for you.
When registering, as your snowboard or ski lesson choice, please choose “Ski Assessment”. An instructor will talk with you briefly on the bus to get an idea of your skill level and explain about our on snow assessment. We want to make sure that we get you into the right class.
This year, we have two Test Drive dates, the destination for both is Mt St Louis Moonstone (MSLM). Click on the trip to be taken to the4 registration page.
Trip A04 on Saturday, January 7, 2017 – Our certified Snow School instructors provide you with a morning lesson and then you're free to ski with your old and new friends for the afternoon. This trip features our first race of the season and all race participants are automatically entered into a draw for great prizes. It's really win-win-win.
Since MSLM offers us a value priced beginner package which includes rental equipment, this is a great trip for beginners. You book rentals during the registration process but note that the lift included with the package is for beginner lifts only.
Trip A14 on Saturday, February 11, 2017 is the second Test Drive date. Only morning lessons are offered but again, you can come over with your class to test your skill on the race course
We had a lot of compliments for our Friends Day to Beaver Valley last year and so are once again offering trip A915 on Monday, February 20, 2017 as a Friends Day. This is the Monday Family Day holiday and the slopes of Beaver Valley range from beginner friendly to just awesome. You should have your own equipment for this trip and you must be registered by a current HPSC member. There is a $20 surcharge for friends above regular prices, but you won’t find a better deal to experience a private escarpment club.
.Test Drive X-Country and Snowshoeing
There are two X-Country/Snowshoe test-drive dates in January and a third in March. Each day you can take the bus to the resort with us and take a cross-country ski lesson or guided snowshoe tour – all for the same price as a member. Rental equipment is available at each of the resorts we go to for test-drives.
Check the x-country day trip schedule for our test-drive dates. Then go to the XCountry landing page and under upcoming events click on the trip name in blue for the test-drive you are interested in to register online. Then, check out the day trip status information page shortly before the day for pick-up times and other details.
We look forward to meeting you!
